UAE reveals World’s largest AI Chip

AI is driving the next era of technology, and the UAE has taken a major step forward in this field with the launch of the world’s largest AI chip. Co-developed by Abu Dhabi’s G42 and US based Cerebras Systems, the chip contains 4 trillion transistors on a single wafer, setting a new global standard for AI computing.

This chip represents a dramatic increase in processing power compared to current technology. While the largest conventional GPUs contain just over 100 billion transistors, this new wafer integrates 40 times more, enabling it to handle vast amounts of data and complex AI calculations simultaneously. Its design allows for high-speed computation and extreme efficiency, making it ideal for advanced AI applications and large-scale model training.

G42 Group CEO Peng Xiao described the chip as “the heart of AI,” emphasizing its critical role in powering modern artificial intelligence. The chip will be deployed at G42’s 5-gigawatt AI campus in Abu Dhabi, forming the core of a massive computing infrastructure. Its high transistor density and advanced design will reduce latency and allow AI systems to operate faster and more efficiently than ever before.

Looking ahead

Beyond its technical achievements, the chip reflects the UAE’s ambition to become a global hub for artificial intelligence. It demonstrates the country’s commitment to technological innovation and positions the UAE at the forefront of AI research and development.
