Dubai Launches Unified Licence to Operate Across All Freezones

Built on a foundation of business-friendly policies, transparent regulations, and exceptional global connectivity, Dubai has consistently introduced forward-looking reforms to strengthen its position as a preferred destination for international investment.

Among the most recent and impactful of these is the launch of the One Freezone Passport, an initiative poised to transform how companies operate across the emirate’s extensive network of free zones.

Louis Vuitton, one of the world’s leading luxury brands, is the first global company to benefit from the newly introduced One Freezone Passport. As confirmed by the Dubai World Trade Centre Authority, the expansion of its free zone licence was completed within a swift five-day timeframe. Building on its existing warehousing operations in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, the brand has now extended its footprint by establishing a corporate office at One Za’abeel, within the DWTC Free Zone.

Closely aligned with the vision of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, the initiative supports the emirate’s ambition to rank among the world’s foremost urban economies within the next decade. Through the simplification of business procedures and strengthened connectivity across its prominent free zones, Dubai is fostering a more efficient and cohesive environment for international business growth.

Dr. Juma Al Matrooshi, Assistant Secretary General at DFZC, emphasised the significance of the initiative, calling it “a transformative initiative that cements Dubai’s position as a global economic powerhouse.” He further noted that the successful onboarding of Louis Vuitton demonstrates the efficiency and effectiveness of Dubai’s regulatory ecosystem.

Reinforcing this perspective, Abdalla Al Banna, Vice President of Free Zone Regulatory Operations at DWTC, emphasized that Louis Vuitton’s expansion signifies strong international confidence in Dubai’s business ecosystem. He noted that the innovative programme further strengthens the city’s appeal to global enterprises by facilitating smooth and unified operations across its network of free zones.

Located at the centre of Dubai, the DWTC Free Zone encompasses a regulated business environment that supports operations across more than 40 sectors. It serves a diverse spectrum of enterprises from global corporations to emerging ventures through a framework designed to promote innovation, efficiency, and long-term development.

The introduction of the One Freezone Passport represents a significant strategic advancement rather than a mere regulatory adjustment.
