A Next-Generation Transport Solution
The RTA has unveiled the Dubai Rail Bus, a solar-powered mass transit system designed for seamless integration with existing public transport. Capable of carrying 40 passengers at speeds of up to 100 km/h, each carriage measures 11.5 meters in length and 2.65 meters in width, featuring 22 seats. The initiative supports Dubai’s sustainability goals and will be showcased at the World Governments Summit 2025.
Sustainability and Innovation
The project aligns with the UAE’s Net Zero Strategy 2050 and Dubai’s autonomous transport vision, targeting 25% autonomous trips by 2030. Developed in partnership with U.S.-based RAIL BUS Inc., it marks the world’s first fully solar-powered mass transit system.
