Dubai to develop major AI and research hub in Zabeel Park

Dubai is taking another step towards strengthening its position as a global centre for technology and innovation with the announcement of Nad Zabeel, a major research, development and innovation campus planned for Zabeel Park.

Launched by Sheikh Hamdan, the campus is expected to attract more than 30,000 scientists, researchers and entrepreneurs through its programmes and events every year. Construction and related operations are expected to be completed within five years.

Nad Zabeel will focus on several key sectors, including AI, robotics, advanced technology, urban development, healthcare and environmental research. The campus will feature laboratories, research centres and innovation incubators, providing space for businesses and researchers to develop and test new ideas.

It will also bring together government entities, academic institutions, technology companies and international investors under one platform. Accelerator and incubator programmes will help promising businesses secure investment and expand, while dedicated facilities will support scientific events and professional activities.

The campus will be located in Zabeel Park, within one kilometre of some of Dubai’s major landmarks and business districts, including Burj Khalifa, DIFC, the Museum of the Future, Emirates Towers and Dubai Frame.

Its central location is expected to make it easier for research institutions, businesses and investors to work together. The project will also host organisations involved in developing future legislation, alongside local and international investment companies.

Sheikh Hamdan said the campus would strengthen Dubai’s existing network of future-focused institutions and help turn scientific knowledge into economic and development opportunities. He also highlighted the emirate’s ambition to attract leading researchers and experts while developing solutions to future challenges.

The project will be overseen by Dubai Future Foundation and will also support the Research, Development and Innovation ecosystem established in December 2025 to connect scientific research with the emirate’s economic and development priorities.

Bottom line

With more than 30,000 researchers, scientists and entrepreneurs expected to take part in its activities each year, Nad Zabeel is set to become an important addition to Dubai’s growing technology and innovation sector.
