RAK has taken another major step in its transformation into a global luxury tourism destination, with construction officially underway on Janu Al Marjan Island. Scheduled to open in 2029, the waterfront development will bring together a luxury hotel, branded residences and wellness-led experiences, adding another internationally recognised hospitality brand to Al Marjan Island.
The project represents the second collaboration between Marjan, the master developer of Al Marjan Island, and Wynn Resorts, following their partnership on the neighbouring Wynn Al Marjan Island. It also marks the first Janu destination in Ras Al Khaimah, expanding Aman Group’s lifestyle-focused hospitality brand in the UAE.
Originally announced in November 2025, Janu Al Marjan Island is being developed next to Wynn Al Marjan Island, the UAE’s first integrated gaming resort, which is currently under construction. Together, the two landmark developments are expected to further establish Al Marjan Island as one of the region’s most sought-after luxury hospitality destinations.
Designed by internationally renowned SCDA Architects, the development will feature a luxury hotel alongside branded residences, all positioned on the island’s waterfront. True to the Janu brand, the project will focus on wellbeing, meaningful social experiences and modern luxury.
Derived from the Sanskrit word for “soul”, Janu has built its identity around creating vibrant spaces that encourage connection, relaxation and holistic living. The development aims to offer residents and guests an immersive lifestyle experience that blends luxury hospitality with wellness-focused amenities.
