As part of this vision, the UAE has launched the Mohammed bin Rashid Government Fellowships, a new program to prepare future leaders in economic strategy and artificial intelligence. The goal is to train government professionals who can support sustainable growth, lead digital transformation, and create smart, evidence-based policies.
The fellowship program is offered in partnership with top universities such as Oxford, MIT, Georgetown, New York University, and the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence. It combines quality education with practical leadership training.
In the first phase, 200 outstanding Emirati professionals will be chosen for the program. Half will study Economic Strategies and International Policy, while the other half will focus on Artificial Intelligence for the Government Sector. The fellows will be placed across top universities 50 at MBZUAI, 25 each at Oxford and MIT, 40 at NYU, and 60 at Georgetown University.
Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, said the initiative reflects the vision of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the guidance of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He described it as a strategic investment in the UAE’s greatest strength and its people. He added that programs like this are vital for improving government performance, boosting competitiveness, and securing long-term prosperity.
Along with its work with top universities, the fellowship shows the UAE’s commitment to learning and innovation. It aims to train government leaders with skills in economics, policy, and AI so they can create smart policies and lead digital change in different sectors.
