UAE hotels welcome 16.1 million guests in first half of 2025

The UAE’s hospitality sector has shown strong growth in the first half of 2025, further establishing the country as a top global tourist destination. Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, stated that hotels across the UAE hosted more than 16.1 million guests during this period, a 5.5% increase compared to the same time in 2024.

This growth shows that the hospitality sector can stay strong even with global challenges and proves that the UAE’s plans to boost tourism and investment are working.

These figures were presented at the third meeting of the Hospitality Advisory Council for 2025, attended by leaders from both the public and private sectors, including directors of major national and international hotel chains in the UAE.

At the meeting, council members looked at the main performance indicators of the hospitality sector. Hotel nights reached 56 million, up 7.3%, with guests staying an average of 3.5 nights. The UAE now has 1,243 hotels with over 216,000 rooms, showing the strength of the country’s tourism infrastructure.

The meeting also highlighted national initiatives and programs aimed at growing the hospitality industry and attracting more investment. Collaboration between the public and private sectors plays a key role in keeping the UAE’s tourism sector strong and competitive.

Minister Al Marri emphasized that the sector’s growth is a direct result of visionary leadership and strategic planning. He highlighted that the continued collaboration between public and private entities is essential in ensuring the UAE remains a leading global destination for travelers and investors alike.
