Previously, renewing a residency visa in Dubai was a time-consuming process that could take anywhere one to three hours, depending on the completeness of documents. However, with the introduction of ‘Salama’, this process has been drastically streamlined. Residents can now renew their visas within minutes, eliminating unnecessary paperwork and long wait times.
The platform leverages artificial intelligence to automatically recognize an applicant’s details upon login. It displays key information such as dependent visa statuses and the number of days remaining before expiration. The user-friendly interface allows applicants to select the renewal duration, with the system processing the request instantly. Moreover, residents can download their updated visas directly from the platform, making the process seamless and hassle-free.
Future Expansions and Business Applications
While ‘Salama’ currently focuses on residency visa renewals and cancellations, plans are already in place for further enhancements. In its next phase, the platform will expand to include services for visitors, tourists, and other GDRFA functions. Additionally, businesses will soon be able to take advantage of this AI-powered solution for company-related visa renewals, with integration into the smart channel and GDRFA DXP application.
Ghaleb Abdullah Mohammed Hassan Al-Majid, Director of the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Department, highlighted the ongoing improvements, stating, “The service will eventually be available for companies as well. We are constantly evolving to keep pace with AI and technological advancements.”
