Dubai International Airport (DXB) continues its reign as the world’s busiest international hub for passengers for the 10th consecutive year. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the airport’s ability to cater to long-haul travel demand and its status as a key player in the global aviation industry, according to preliminary data by the Airports Council International (ACI).

Paul Griffiths, chief executive of Dubai Airports, expressed pride in the airport’s continued success. He emphasised DXB’s dedication to maintaining its top position in the coming years through collaboration and innovation. As airlines and travellers alike recognise the value of DXB’s services, the airport is poised to shape the future of global aviation.

In 2023, DXB handled a staggering 86.9 million passengers, a 31.7% increase from the previous year. This year, the airport is expected to welcome 88.8 million passengers and aims to surpass its previous record of 89.1 million passengers set in 2018. The airport projects annual passenger traffic to reach 93.8 million in 2025, with hopes of hitting the milestone of 100 million passengers soon after.

DXB’s strategic location and state-of-the-art facilities have cemented its position as a dominant player in the aviation industry. The airport’s home airlines are receiving wide-body aircraft, and more international carriers are launching flights to this major Gulf hub. These developments contribute to the airport’s ongoing success and growth.

Furthermore, DXB’s role as a key tourist and relocation destination in Dubai has contributed to the surge in passenger traffic, making it one of the busiest airports globally. As the airport continues to evolve and adapt to the changing needs of travellers, its significance in the global aviation landscape remains unparalleled. Dubai International Airport stands as a beacon of success and innovation, driving the emirate’s vision for the future of travel and tourism.
